Santa is coming … to a place near you!

Once again, Santa has agreed to take a break from his festive preparations to help us collect money to fund our Christmas store vouchers. He will be appearing on his sleigh at the following locations at the times stated. He has also promised to do a couple of runs in the early evening around Thatcham.

Please share with all your friends so they don't miss the big man!

Saturday 12th December

10am - 12:30pm: Thatcham Broadway

1:30pm - 3:30pm: Tesco Northfield Road

4:30pm - 6pm: Drive around roads north of A4

Sunday 13th December

10am - 3:30pm: Newbury Retail Park by Argos

Saturday 19th December

10am - 12:30pm: Thatcham Broadway

1:30pm - 3:30pm: Tesco Northfield Road

4:30pm - 6pm: Drive around roads south of A4

Sunday 20th December

10am - 11:45am: Tesco Pinchington Lane

Lions will be collecting money for their Christmas Appeal, which provides store vouchers for those in greatest need in our community.

Mask making 10/08/2020

Along with everyone else, Newbury Lions Club have found it difficult to raise money during the Covid-19 lockdown. The local District Council had swiftly set up a support hub that has operated efficiently during the crisis, with Lions registering individually as volunteers. Lion Maureen Benedict set up a community Facebook page to co-ordinate volunteers in her small village, which has many older people. She also began to cook a curry once a week for neighbours. This has now grown into a weekly Curry Club serving over 35 people each week.
